Messing About

Yes, I have been messing about.
In this photo:

A coiled fabric basket with hinged lid,
A knotting project in work,
"Blueberry Hill" yarn spun from a silk shirt, novelty yarn and wooden beads,
Two felted soaps,
"Crawdad" yarn spun from a silk scarf and rayon ribbon.

Sea Anemone

Sea Anemone
4"

Here is my second knotting project.
This one is done with waxed Irish linen thread and glass beads.
It started out as a closed cylinder but it was doing nothing for me,
so, I deconstructed it.
As I have mentioned before, I seem to have to take something
APART
before it starts working for me.
I should get better at this when the cast comes off
next week!

Jellyfish

Still playing with basket making techniques. I was trying to learn how to do basket "knotting" but I didn't have any waxed linen thread, so I struggled along with Pearl Cotton waxed with a beeswax candle. Not too successful! I may have gotten the hang of it though and this morning, my basket making friend, Jo, brought me a box full of waxed linen thread. So, now I can try it with the right materials. Actually, it is a bit hard to do without a fully functional right wrist, but it is, after all just an experiment.
