Stitching On Saturday--a detail

I wonder where this is going. It is already very different from where it began.

Cell Blocks

At long last. I think I am done with Cell Blocks (7 x 17), but I am not really sure. I had some problems with the machine thread . The machine kept making long floats on the surface and then these would get caught in the presser foot and make a big mess. I cleaned everything out, changed the needle and so on, but kept having the problem. I got tired of fighting it, so I am through for now. I will just look at it for awhile and see if I want to make changes.

The Tower Of Babel

12.5 x 5

This is a thread painting on muslin. I had a hard time getting the design transfered on this one. I kept getting it backwards and of course it matters because of the letters. I finally realized, that on my printer, if you check T-shirt transfer in the options box, it automatically reverses the image. So, if you reverse it yourself before printing, it will reverse again and you are back to where you started. Naturally, I thought all would be well and printed straight on to the transfer paper. Consequently, I have several transfers featuring backwards letters to use some day!

The Consultant

I have been getting a lot of expert help lately. Tess has definite ideas about how things should be done.

Can Can
7 x 8.5
Machine embroidery on monoprinted fabric. I embroidered some shapes in and then took them back out by sewing over with another color. Substraction again. Did it work? I am not sure. Will have to look at it for a while.
