Making Progress

The Octopus Garden
8.5" x 8.5"

I posted a photo of this piece when I first started it.
If you want to refresh your memory, you can see it here
http://sarazmuz.blogspot.com/2013/05/a-new-beginning.html

I started working on it again yesterday as a break from the "white" embroidery. It is not finished, but I am almost there. In case I didn't mention it before, the base of this piece is hand dyed cotton twill. I tore some of it into strips and wove them. A mono print on fabric was appliqued on top. Then it was all embroidery and more embroidery. The texture on each side is dyed scrim, couched down with buttonhole stitches. Dyed silk cord is mixed in there as well.

Sampler 2

13" x 13"

White cotton hand embroidery on a white linen napkin.
In this photo, the piece is in the process of being damp stretched.
I think it has an Ecclesiastical look don't you?

What Is it?

I think this embroidery is finished.
I can't say I won't add anything to it, but for now, I am done.
Does it look like something to you?
What should the title be?
Some have seen a fantastic animal; some a garden; some a house.
Oh and the background is not grey! It is off-white.
I don't know what is up with that.

My Little Scarf

I finished this last night and washed it this morning.
It came out better than I thought it was going to.
I think knitting the pointed end
(I got really tired of knitting that point)
with the bright orange helped.
The orange gave it a more southwestern look.
The wrap is smaller than I expected
definitely a scarf and not a shawl or even a shawlette!
