Sea Anemone
Sea Anemone
4"
Here is my second knotting project.
This one is done with waxed Irish linen thread and glass beads.
It started out as a closed cylinder but it was doing nothing for me,
so, I deconstructed it.
As I have mentioned before, I seem to have to take something
APART
before it starts working for me.
I should get better at this when the cast comes off
next week!

Jellyfish
Still playing with basket making techniques. I was trying to learn how to do basket "knotting" but I didn't have any waxed linen thread, so I struggled along with Pearl Cotton waxed with a beeswax candle. Not too successful! I may have gotten the hang of it though and this morning, my basket making friend, Jo, brought me a box full of waxed linen thread. So, now I can try it with the right materials. Actually, it is a bit hard to do without a fully functional right wrist, but it is, after all just an experiment.

The Kindness Of Nature
This probably doesn't look like much to most of you.
Just some washed out photos of flowers.
But, to me, it is a
miracle.
We are having a severe drought and I haven't been able to water,
because of my accident.
In fact, I haven't even re-attached the hoses to the faucets.
So I was totally amazed to see that I have flowers!
I thought I would have to replant the flower beds.
I was especially worried about my "Pinky" rose which looked awful during the winter.
But, surprise.
It is covered with blooms. The most I have ever seen.
These plants are still alive!
Pinky Rose
Amaryllis
Spanish Lavender
Mexican Sage
Miniature Roses, pink and yellow
Oxeye Daisies
Cacti

Basket Case
I must be a little crazy.
Who in their right mind would weave tiny baskets with
a broken wrist?
The square one is paper
The Quiver shaped one is a combo of materials
(naturally I didn't have the "right" materials)
and the one on the cardboard tube is an
experiment in looping.
Well, they are all experiments, but
I had fun.

The Reveal
Look!
I have a neck!
It is not all that great looking, but after four weeks in a neck brace,
it is good to see it again.
The doctor said I was a good healer.
I thought when the brace came off, my chin might sag to my chest but it didn't.
Perhaps the brace acted like one of those chin straps
advertised in the back of magazines?
Right...

All Boxed In
Yesterday I decided to make
paper boxes.
I like to have a few of them around and
my supply was getting low.
I didn't know if I could make them with my broken wrist
but it worked out all right.
I tried to make
a woven paper basket
as well, but
that was very difficult.
I may try again today!

And They Said It Couldn't Be Done
I finally finished unraveling the sweater.
It took a long time under the circumstances,
but none the less I got it down.
To see where I started.
